Description

Recruit, Retain, Onboard and Build Culture

“The balance of power will continue to shift from employer to candidate…” Gill Buchanan in the Undercover Recruiter

With national unemployment rates of 3.9 percent and regional unemployment that hovers around 2 percent, employers have a critical challenge: making their organization look more appealing to qualified candidates.

Join in a conversation that focuses on tools that will help your organization recruit, retain, onboard and build a successful culture with your employees. More than just placing an ad in local media to let potential candidates know you have an opening, the process of hiring and retaining staff has become more complex. Explore some of the tools involved in a thoughtful hiring and retention process.

Recruit: Every organization seeks to hire the best possible candidates, but where you place the job notice can determine who will see the opportunity and apply. Do you know what potential employees are looking for, and what will gain their attention?

Retain: Losing employees is a costly endeavor for organizations, not only in the turnover, but in the impact on team performance. Do you know why employees leave your organization? Are there clues that will help you spot an employee who might need a “stay conversation” before it turns into an “exit interview?” What tools can you use to build loyalty, and help embed your employees more deeply into your organization?

Onboard: Join in an exploration of some best practices to create a great first impression, and continue that critical process after Day One.

Build a Culture: Although tempting, we can’t “throw out” a less-than-ideal organizational culture, but we can make healthy adjustments. Consider some of the alignment tools that will build emotional energy and influence, and explore the role of leadership in building a successful strategy.

The workshop format is a combination of presentation, exercises, and discussions. The facilitator will introduce concepts, share real-life examples of their use in the workplace, and encourage participants to develop practical means of applying them directly to their current work situations. The presentation includes a PowerPoint, handouts and video content.
